What is Unifed?
The UniFED system of biological nutrient removal provides a low capital and operating cost system with improved performance over competing systems (especially with respect to removal of nitrogen and phosphorus).
UniFED can be designed and built in a new treatment plant or incorporated as a low-cost retrofit to existing IDEA (Intermittently Decanted Extended Aeration) or SBR (Sequence Batch Reactor) plants.
The IDEA process is well-proven, and has been used in sewage treatment plants (STP) around NSW Australia for over 30 years. Minimal structural changes to IDEA are required and effluent quality is significantly improved. |
