Unifed Advantages
The UniFED process technology has many design advantages over conventional systems including:
Single tank without recycle streams |
No chemical dosing |
Robust design and operation |
Nitrification/denitrification |
Enhanced biological phosphorus removal |
High quality effluent and well-settling sludges |
UniFED plants offer lower capital costs because they use significantly less land, and design, capital and operating costs are lower than conventional systems. |

UniFED plants can also be constructed in stages to suit a city’s development and its regulatory programs, and can be built on green-field sites or retrofitted to existing wastewater treatment plants.
Alternative construction methods include sloped earthen-wall lagoons and steel framed and lined tanks, which are transportable and can be factory fabricated for hotels and institutions, with almost immediate installation and commissioning at the client’s facility.
UniFED is derived from a sequencing batch reactor system but potentially can be used on continuous flow systems. |
